Peggy Jelmini’s artistic journey began at an early age, with her passion for painting being recognized when she was awarded a scholarship to a regional art center as an elementary school student. This early exposure sparked a lifelong dedication to mastering the craft, culminating in a Summa cum Laude degree in Art, accompanied by the Dean’s Medal for Scholarship and Service upon graduation. Her relentless pursuit of excellence in the arts led her to study under some of the most esteemed figures in the art world, who provided her with guidance, constructive criticism, and recognition. This constant growth and attention to detail are what allow Peggy to elevate the ordinary into the extraordinary through her artistic vision. Her work has been praised by peers and professionals alike for its sensitivity and technical precision.

Peggy began her professional career as a watercolorist, gaining early recognition for her captivating portrayals of California’s Central Valley—its flora and peaceful landscapes. Seeking broader inspiration, she traveled to the East Coast, where she studied at the National Gallery of Art and engaged with prominent art societies, such as the Potomac Valley and Virginia Watercolor Societies. This expansion of her artistic horizons allowed her to refine her skills and take her work to new, vibrant levels.
Over the years, Peggy’s work has graced galleries and exhibitions along the East Coast and beyond, including numerous one-woman shows across the United States. Her artistic achievements have earned her features in prominent art publications, including The Artists Magazine, and she was honored with the prestigious Gold Medal of Honor from the Northwest Watercolor Society.

Her watercolor and oil paintings have found homes in hundreds of collections, both personal and corporate, across the country. Peggy Jelmini has been a proud member of the Carmel Art Association since 1998, and throughout her career, she has been featured in numerous one-woman shows and group exhibitions. Her work is included in prominent medical and corporate collections, including Kaiser, Saint Agnes Medical Center, Community Hospitals of Central California, Children's Hospital, and Stanford University’s Athletic Department. Additionally, her art is represented in collections at Corral de Tierra, the Monterey Art Museum, and La Quinta.

Her impressive resume extends to publications such as The Artist Magazine and Carmel Magazine, where her work and accomplishments have been highlighted. Her art has been celebrated in the prestigious 100 Artists of Carmel and Big Sur and at the Carmel Art Festival. Nationally, she has participated in art shows, including the San Diego Watercolor Society and the Santa Cruz Landscape Annual, and has been awarded the Gold Medal of Honor from the Northwest Watercolor Society.
